Cotton Yarn: Setting Colors

If you ever have yarn that bleeds and gets all over your hand when you craft with it, here's how to set the colors. Peaches and Cream Psychedelic, Sugar and Creme Swimming Pool, many others... 😉

I collect cloths that I have knitted that need color fasting... then I half-fill a sink of warm-ish water, dissolve a tablespoon of regular table salt, and add a cup of white vinegar. Let cloths soak for 20-30 minutes, then rinse out cloths until the vinegar smell goes away. Don't wring out cloths, but instead press out as much water as you can, and then lay on a dry towel and roll out excess water. I then hang the cloths on a clothes rack to air dry. 😊
